Description:

·         As part of the  Group Insurance team, the Java Developer takes an active role with Java development activities in support of a technical delivery.  Functionality delivered supports all Group Insurance products and business functions as well as Client enterprise portfolio delivery. Reports to the Application Development Manager. Interacts with Business Analysts, Business Partners, Project Managers, Enterprise, Data, and System Architects, Designers, Developers, and Quality Assurance as well as 3^rd party vendors.

 

 

Skills:

• 3 + years Technical expertise combined with drive and communication skills to help establish a Java development practice and an application integration platform for Group IT.
• 3+ Outstanding expertise in Java Enterprise software development and Enterprise Application Integration using Spring and Spring Integration.
• 3+ Experience with the JBoss platform and MS SQL Server.
• Solid understanding of software development best practices (test-driven development, continuous integration) and different software development methodologies (agile, waterfall).
• Analytical thinker and hands-on problem solver who excels at getting new team members up to speed.
• Result driven mindset and ability to communicate with people at all management levels.
• Experience using Maven and the Atlassian tool suite a plus.
