Data Engineer (ETL/Informatica)

Location: Knoxville, TN

Duration: Long-term Contract

Job Description:

The Senior Data Engineer will join the Data Services team for the Media and Content Distribution Systems group located in Knoxville, TN, which is responsible for developing and maintaining systems for managing Client's rich media libraries.

Data Services is a shared services team that works with multiple business groups across the enterprise to provide solutions in data architecture, integration, visualization, and analytics.

As a part of this group, qualified candidates will be expected to have a healthy understanding of multiple database technologies and will have proven experience in designing and deploying data integration and reporting solutions across multiple platforms.

This role will participate heavily in the administration, development, and delivery of operational and analytical reports across heterogeneous platforms and must have strong data analysis skills.

This candidate must have the ability to provide both thought and technical leadership amongst peers and team members from various backgrounds and domains.

Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and the ability to mentor team members are a must.

Qualifications:

Hands-on experience in every facet of the Data Management life cycle (design, development, implementation, support)

5+ years of experience in Designing and Developing ETL Workflows using Informatica, Python, Unix and Oracle.

Performance tuning the data pipelines and ETL Jobs.

Experience sourcing and integrating data from various platforms (relational, NoSQL, graph, etc.)

Developed data quality scripts and reports to ensure high quality of data.

Experience in Data Integration Frameworks.

Experience in Developing, Migrating, and Merging Data models.

Experience in writing advanced SQL queries.

Experience working on Reporting tools like Tableau, SAP BO

Experience working in an environment that employs agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)

Should have good analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the design and development of data integration processes to support data migrations, application integrations, and reporting initiatives

Responsible for the administration, design, and development of operational and analytical reporting across multiple platforms

Ability to navigate and operate within the AWS cloud infrastructure

Perform advanced tuning of data workflows for optimal performance

Promote data quality best practices by working closely with application development teams to deliver solutions that meet business needs as well as scale for future growth
