Bureau of Preparedness, Assurance, Inspections and Statistics
Location: Carson City, Nevada
100% onsite – Part time – 20 hours per week – Note: The actual schedule can be worked out with the agency; however, it could be two (2) 8 hour days and one (1) 4 hour day

A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security;
The ability to analyze various platforms of information systems and develop application test cases for system verification and functionality;
The ability to define and implement a solution to a given problem that requires an individually tailored response for end-user requirements;
Strong verbal and written communication abilities;
The ability to identify and correct application security and integrity vulnerabilities;
The ability to develop written requirements for proposed applications;
The ability to work with other IT staff and contractors collaboratively; and
Knowledge of the necessary interfaces to the computer operating system.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Ensure that the functionality, documentation and security needs of the Division of Public and Behavioral Health's (DPBH) Medical Marijuana applications are met in a timely manner.
SCOPE OF WORK
Consultant must perform all activities to the agreed upon project plan/schedule. Work must be completed according to the specifications and standards set by the State and national information security best practice standards.
Review of the software requirements for creating test cases;
Develop, plan and implement test cases based on the software functional requirements, user input and technical understanding;
Develop and execute testing strategies and test cases;
Perform functional, system, regression and performance tests to test and establish the software capability as per the requirement and reliability;
Assist in reproducing, investigating and debugging software issues in coordination with the development team and functional users of the system by writing clear steps to reproduce;
Document and report test outcomes/defects by collecting, analyzing, interpreting and summarizing data to the development team with a clear and concise instructions to reproduce the defects;
Prioritize the defects found;
Advise and support the project management on testing activities;
Develop and extend the current test infrastructure to be more efficient, both in execution and reporting; and
Maintain and improve the test environment to mimic the production environment as closely as possible.
DELIVERABLES
Consultant must provide the following based on the agreed upon project plan/schedule.
Complete all assignments as required per Section 12, Scope of Work; and
Submit bi-weekly status reports to include, but not be limited to:
Overall completion status of the project in terms of the approved project plan and schedule;
Problems that were encountered and proposed/actual resolutions;
Issues that need to be addressed;
Accomplishments during the period; and
Activities to be accomplished during the next reporting period.
