Job Description:
The primary role of the Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) is to define, develop, maintain and support Oracle Databases and Oracle Applications provided by the Product Data Management (PDM) group and required custom applications for support of Engineering Systems and Applications and FNC user groups. This position is responsible for applying Oracle RDBMS technologies to design & develop quality database solutions for customer Internet, Intranet, and Extranet applications. Activities include RDBMS performance tuning, database design and implementation, and RDBMS upgrades and installations.
This position is also responsible for applying Oracle web-based technologies to design & develop production quality solutions for customer Internet, Intranet, and Extranet applications. In particular, Oracle RDBMS applications and integrations development.
The candidate should also have a working knowledge of UNIX shell scripts, PL/SQL and be skilled and experienced in data modeling, and applications analysis and development
•Be a member of a small team of professionals developing Oracle database management solutions utilizing web- based and RDBMS-based technology.
•Communicate with customers in order to determine their needs and business objectives and definition of project plans.
•Identify and conduct daily DBA tasks to ensure high quality RDBMS performance and reliability.
•Ensure database security, backup and recovery capabilities.
•Formulate and implement Database requirements, design specifications, test and user-oriented documentation, and application designs and code.
•Participate with other organizations sharing similar responsibilities to formulate cohesive plans to leverage availability and use of managed information across the enterprise.
•Identify and resolve problems affecting PDM Oracle databases and related applications.
