We currently have a short Term Contracting opportunity for a Java/Quality Assurance Engineer with our client located in Washington, DC.

 

Our client a Fortune 500 media company is developing software to make the TV viewing experience more personal, intuitive, searchable and customizable.  The client work environment is very casual and a cool place to hang around and be surrounded by technical professional who are passionate about their work and congregate to bounce ideas off each other.

 

Job Description:

This position is with the Results Quality Assurance (RQA) team. The RQA team is made up of Java programmers, QA Engineers and analysts responsible for testing client Search and Recommendations platform. 

 

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to schedules and plans.
• Develop, maintain and execute automated tests in Java.
• Validating the results quality of Search, Browse and Recommendations.
• Analyze data and results of tests, record defects, provide status. 
• Generate and present reports from test data.  

Job Requirements:

• Excellent oral and written skills
• Computer Science, Mathematics/Computer Science minor or Related IT degrees
• Proficient with Windows, Linux OS environments
• Proficient with SQL, JAVA, Web Technologies and XML
• Good knowledge of American TV, movie, entertainment, sports and culture
• Great skill with the analysis and representation of data
• Proficient with Excel, Power Point
• Work on a technical team as a contributing member
• Ability to work in fast paced dynamic environment
• Ability to learn large and complex systems and data
• Great organizational skills with respect to information and tasks
