System Engineer
Location: Beltsville - MD
Duration: 12+Months
Position Responsibilities:
Configuration and deployment of Unix and Linux hardware and software into a fully managed datacenter. This engineer is responsible for the configuration, upgrades, modifications, and deployments of customer gear into a large scale fully managed hosting environment. Work also involves Rack/Stack/Cable gears at datacenter. The position is in Beltsville, MD.
Required Skills & Experience:
The candidate should have a minimum of 4 years experience with Sun/Oracle hardware as well as an in depth working knowledge of Solaris. The candidate should also possess a strong track record of managing and configuring Redhat Enterprise server and HP hardware. Candidate should have at least 5 years experience as a sysadmin or in an engineering role. Strong troubleshooting skills are required.
Desired Skills & Experience:
BS in a technical field is highly recommended. Working knowledge of large scale datacenters is a plus. SUN Solaris or Linux Certifications are highly recommended. Knowledge of ITIL v3 is also recommended
