8+ Month Contract
We are still in need of multiple Operations Engineers to work on the BestBuy.Com team.
Description of Responsibilities:
· Manage day to day Infrastructure Operations for numerous BestBuy.com sites.
· Time is split between helping business groups and performing technical tasks. You will be required to represent the Cloud Operations team in business meetings.
· Technical Tasks:
* Managing AWS Infrastructure / Opscode Chef Servers
* Writing Chef recipes for infrastructure automation
* Setting up alerts / monitors with Splunk
* Managing applications such as Tomcat, Apache, Riak, NetKernel, etc.
* Other Systems Administration tasks as needed
* Assist in providing infrastructure strategy in a DevOps style
· Be a part of the 24/7 on-call rotation for Cloud Operations.
Description of Skills:
· Experience in Linux System Administration (Ubuntu, Redhat, Centos).
· Programming experience with any of the following -- Ruby, PHP, Python, or Java. This position is not a dedicated programming position.
· Experience with some or all of the following technologies: Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, CouchDB, MongoDB, NetKernel, Nginx, Solr, Spring, Splunk, Riak, ElasticSearch, Graphite, Ganglia, Jetty, Cassandra.
· Experience working with AWS or other cloud providers.
· Self-starter -- has a passion for technology and works well in a team.
