GENERAL SUMMARY:

Searching for a Network Project Architect who will support multiple projects in the design and deployment of a major network implementation program. This person will be expected to provide technical leadership in the design of major network components and segments in the areas of microwave, fiber and other network technologies. This person would also contribute in the development of an enterprise level architecture and detailed design to alleviate current operational issues and ensure the capability to address evolving requirements and future needs.
This role will also provide recommendations for network redundancy, regulatory requirements and bandwidth utilization impacting network segment performance of multiple solutions while working in a collaborative and multi-vendor project environment.
Nice to have would be for the candidate to have experience deploying and support networks in a large energy utility environment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Excellent working knowledge of microwave and fiber network systems.
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of telecommunications circuits and communication standards.
• Strong working knowledge and experience with network reliability and security standards, solutions and considerations. This includes security issues technologies and design considerations as well as security considerations for network implementations.
• Hands-on experience and knowledge of network monitoring and administration tools and commercially available industry network management products.
• Working knowledge of network architecture and design including converged services strategy and implementation.
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of industry network standards.
• Must be capable of contributing to the design and architecting a secure, robust, callable infrastructure.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

• Required Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• Have 5 plus years experience architecting, designing and implementing robust network services and products including both LAN and WAN technologies
• Industry experience in large complex fortune 100 companies, ideally including utilities
• Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and documentation skills with the ability to perform or support requirements gathering, consensus building, and governance development is essential.
