Wireless Network Engineer on the Wide Area Network team requires experience and familiarity with Cisco hardware and software. To be considered for this position, a candidate must be able to show this familiarity, plus demonstrate that they understand TCP/IP and Internet routing protocols. The candidate who fills this position will be working with other team members, providers and customers to design, implement and support new and existing connectivity solutions.
Project Summary and Position Overview:

Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Planning, installing and maintaining customer facing WAN connections
- Manage the documentation and administrate needs of a large WAN infrastructure
- Manage IP address block allocation and documentation
- Troubleshoot access and communication issues in a variety of environments
- Provide best quality customer service to internal and external customers
- Investigate new access methods and network technologies
This position will have access to highly sensitive public record information and as a result all new hires and current employees in positions of this level will be subject to periodic background checks. Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related technical degree preferred
Required Skills and Necessary Experience:
· 5+ years experience as a Network/Systems Engineer in a large diverse environment (including both Cisco RS and WLAN systems).
· Familiarity with Cisco IOS and hardware
· Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
· Understanding of Internet Routing Protocols
· Experience with TCP/IP
· Experience deploying ACS products
· Strong background in security products (Cisco, Juniper)
Desired Skills and Necessary Experience:
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues
- Quickly learn and understand new technologies
- Accurately document complex environments
- Ability to independently manage large scale WLAN network deployments
WLAN Experience:
- Configuration of LWAP and antonymous APs
- Experience deploying CleanAir enabled networks
- Experience deploying WCS management platforms
- Ability to perform wireless surveys using AirMagnet products
- Ability to deploy SSIDs (with multiple security settings)
- Experience in WLAN architecture using anchor controllers
- In depth knowledge of wireless technologies including 802.11A, B/G, N, Cisco controller based wireless products and APs
- Understanding of security protocols: LEAP, PEAP, WEP, WPA.
- Experience deploying "guest networks" using controller based architecture
- Experience deploying SSO WLAN architectures
- Ability to troubleshoot complex wired and wireless issues
- Solid understanding of RF fundamentals
