SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the position is to understand and enhance the Nuveen application environment, specifically as a member of a centralized reporting team responsible for the creation and maintenance of key enterprise-wide production reports and also the definition, build and support of the Nuveen business intelligence solution. Nuveen has a complex architecture and several systems that contain data and processes that have foundational impact on key workflows and applications used by the business. This position is a strategic component in ensuring that IT meets required business service levels through the use of the tools, methodologies and established processes. The incumbent will be active in contributing to the fulfillment of Nuveen Investments' Mission: to secure the long-term goals of our clients and the advisors who serve them, by demonstrating the following responsibilities and duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are generally representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive. Application Development · Develop sound technical solutions to meet user requirements · Design, develop and support Business Intelligence analytics and reporting systems · Work with business leaders to understand information needs and provide solution to data needed to guide strategic business decisions · Interacts with all components of the data elements, including: creating semantic layer, ensuring data integrity, reporting, and dashboards · Develop and execute test routines to ensure quality of software · Inform manager and user community of progress, issues and concerns · Maintain or update Business Intelligence tools, templates, or other reusable knowledge assets Application Support · Resolve business-technology issues that impact production process and systems availability · Ensure that system fixes meet intended business needs according to defined requirements · Take ownership for the resolution of technical issues for assigned third-party vendor applications Business Analysis · Develop a strong understanding of business requirements; working with business users to define technical process and requirements · Identify and recommend best approach to solve business issues

Education and/or Experience: · Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university ·
5+ years of solid experience in Business Application Software design and development ·
Investment management industry experience preferred Interpersonal / Communication / Language skills: ·
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) ·
Strong business acumen and service orientation ·
Client service-oriented mathematical / analytical / reasoning skills: ·
Strong problem recognition and resolution skills ·
Analysis skills that can produce multiple viable solutions to a given issue ·

Ability to implement solutions quickly once resolution identified
Technical Skills:
· Advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence concepts (reporting, analytics, Integration Technologies, semantic Layer, Data Marts, ETL, OLAP) · Experience in designing and developing solutions using Microsoft BI Stack of SharePoint Portal Server, Windows SharePoint Services, SQL Server Reporting Services, Report Builder, and SQL Server Analysis Services or related tools such as Tableau ·
Experience with SharePoint 2010/2013, custom web part, workflow, designer and security framework ·
Working knowledge of iterative and agile methodologies ·
Maintain and follow established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies on all projects ·
Develop high level and detailed designs for assigned development initiatives ·
Prepare technical specifications from which application programs will be developed ·
Develop and execute QA routines to ensure quality of software ·
Experience with one or more of the following systems/tools a plus – Eagle Reporting Portal, Eagle PACE & Performance, Charles River, and Portia ·
RDBMS: Microsoft SQL Server - Stored Procedures, DTS/SSIS ·
Languages: C# .Net ·
Operating systems: Windows Other: ·
