Title: Project Architect / Technical Lead
Overview: This project will implement a new Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). The successful candidate will have proven experience implementing Utility Energy Management Systems.
Responsibilities:
• Designing and implementing solutions to meet internal customers' business needs.
• Hands-on project architecture, high level design, coordinating detailed design and development, and vendor technical leadership.
• Leads the development of non-functional and technical requirements.
• Creates a high level design and drives the decomposition of high level design to detailed design.
• Coordinates software configuration, integration development, and vendor technical activities.
• Collaborates with the project manager, SMEs, application technical analysts, and enterprise architects.
• Contributing to and evaluating RFP responses for acquisition of an ADMS.
• Working in collaboration with Distribution Engineering, create high level design for the ADMS solution and all integrations.
• Develop artifacts to be used be used in downstream SDLC phases.
• Assist with hardware ordering and setup of test, development and production environments
• Coordinate software installation and configuration
• Provide leadership to technical resources, working with PM on suggested work assignments and leading team from design to solution
• Serve as liaison to other teams involved in project, coordinating integration work
• Work with Test Lead to coordinate environments and help coordinate technical resources to support testing activities
• Work closely with PM, providing status updates on risks, issues and tasks completions
• Coordinate technical aspects of deployment, including hardware environments, certification and software deployment
• Coordinate peer review and SCM activities
• Work with software vendors as needed to coordinate software deliveries, provide detailed information on bugs, etc. .
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years experience creating high level design and solution architectures.
• Proven experience in EMS / DMS/SCADA functional and technical architecture, design and development, testing, and system integration.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze strategic business objectives and align those objectives with technologies and resources to deliver on tactical solutions.
• Proven experience with enterprise application integration. Ability to coordinate with a dedicated enterprise integration team.
• Familiarity with data warehousing and business analytics.
• Demonstrated experience with security considerations. Ability to coordinate with a dedicated security team.
• Proven vendor management experience including SOW creation, financial control, and aggressively driving vendor to meet date and budget commitments.
• Experience working in the utility industry.
