Enterprise Solution Architect
12+ Month Contract (possible to convert to employee or extend contract)
*upon offer, candidates must complete background check and drug test*
Enterprise Solution Architect provides thought leadership and hands-on engagement to develop, direct and implement innovative technology and business solutions. This role will impact the full spectrum of technology and engineering development, influencing infrastructure, data and application design, hosting and optimization.
Initially this role will be aligned with a large Internet facing Lending system being designed using the Windows stack hosted on AWS.
Responsibilities
- Assess state of current Infrastructure, database and application technologies and configuration
- Analyze metrics for usage / availability / service targets
- Recommend short and long term solutions for hosting, connectivity and optimization
- Evaluate and recommend system automation and management tools
- Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing and mentoring for technical team members, as well as network effectively with teams across departments
- Lead Agile teams and processes to deliver high quality software and configuration
- Define and champion leading network, database and application technologies and tools to improve the efficiency, quality, and ease of support for our applications and solutions.
- Recommend, implement and automate security controls, governance processes and compliance validation
- Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging
- Provide feedback and recommendations concerning platform optimization, acceptable development methods, deployment / build methods
- Recommend Software / Configure POC for evaluation
- Continuously maintain knowledge base with guidelines and best practices
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in the software industry, including experience attracting, leading and mentoring members of technical staff
- Experience with networking concepts including UTM, Active Directory
- Experience in application and infrastructure security practices and standards
- Experience with infrastructure management and strong grasp of automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Jenkins)
- Strong understanding of server and desktop virtualization
- Strong understanding of data management practices: Encryption, replication, ETL, reporting, analytics.
- Strong understanding of database platforms: Oracle 11G with RAC, MS SQL Server, MySQL.
- Familiarity with AWS hybrid network strategies, auto-scaling, RDS and application services - a big plus
- Strong understanding of web applications, web technologies, cloud hosting and data management
- Familiarity with modern trends in application development
- Solid knowledge of a variety of programming and scripting languages - C#,.NET, HTML, AngularJS, Python and JavaScript to name a few.
- Experience with software methodologies such as Agile, SCRUM, Object Oriented, and Iterative
- A strong focus on business outcomes with ability to synthesize business issues into technical solutions
- Ability to isolate, troubleshoot and solve problems
- Strong desire to learn and experiment with new things
- Strong desire to automate everything
- Ability to mentor and present ideas and subjects to peers
