4 month Contract

Cypress, CA

*Must pass a drug test and background check once offered the position*

 

 

Responsibilities of this role include:
• Maintain the DataStage / SSIS server processes.
• Create new projects and associated data directories on the DataStage / SSIS Servers.
• Manage space allocation and usage within the DataStage / SSIS filesystems.
• Install DataStage / SSIS executables on the DataStage servers.
• Tune the DataStage / SSIS server processes.
• Ensure that the DataStage / SSIS servers are backed up appropriately, and that recovery of DataStage / SSIS server data is possible.
• Identify, define and establish technical environment requirements (e.g., access to hardware, file access approvals).
• Provide consultation on DataStage / SSIS best practices to the project teams.
• Work with other technical teams within the company to set-up and configure the managed-services ETL environments.
• Interact with the vendor technical support staff to resolve issues regarding the DataStage / SSIS product suites.
• Analyze customers' ITG and HPSM requests and fullfill them according to the team's standard practices and SLA's.
• Review and approve deployment requests according to the team's standard practices and SLA's.

Required skills and attributes:
• Significant knowledge of an ETL Software Architecture and tools. DataStage and SSIS are desired.
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Mastery of DataStage Enterprise Edition (PX), Metadata, Information Analyzer and QualityStage.
• Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks with competing priorities.

 

Skills required:

·       Linux

·       Oracle

·       SQL Server

·       Change Management experience
