Duration: three months

Service Description

The VMware View VDI Service will be comprised of an HP consultant working alongside the Mass Mutual VMware staff to review and assess their current VMware deployment.  The HP consultant shall assist in applying Industry Standard Practices to help streamline the current VMware implementation and processes.

 

Key Activities

• Assess the current VMware processes being utilized

• Help with implementing new processes to improve productivity and optimization

• Work alongside the Mass Mutual staff to provide Industry Standard Practices knowledge sharing

• Help with support issues and execution of View VDI procedures

• Perform mentoring and knowledge transfer to Mass Mutual staff

• Assist with evaluation of the EMC VDI environment

• Develop an Industry Standard Practices VMware View document for Mass Mutual

 

Additional customer comments

• Ability to install and configure View 4.x and 5.x server components

• Ability to understand and create manual, automatic, persistent and non-persistent pools

• Ability to monitor and manage pools and event logs in View console

• Ability to understand and debug issues between vCenter and View Console

• Ability to describe and create Linked Clones and update pools with Snapshots

 

Note from the hiring manager: 

For the 4 VMWare view resumes you sent, they seem to be focused on the server side of VMWare and I need resumes that have a greater focus on the client side - creating and managing virtual desktops (windows 7) so the customer can get away from physical desktops for end users. Can we ask the vendors to look again based on that. I think they may have just seen VMWare and made an assumption.
