Job Description

1.     Client is looking for a Senior My SQL DBA with experience in maintaining Database platforms using MySQL and running on Linux.

 

You'll be involved in:

2.     Working with Core technologies that are used as the platform for the whole of Service Engineering to build on

3.     Maintaining our existing legacy Database platform and evaluating migration paths and plans to continue to drive our Database platform forward

 

Required Skills

1.     Unix Systems Programming (RHEL or CentOS preferred)

2.     Good knowledge in MySQL (7+ years)

3.     Experience with C/C++ (5+ years)

4.     Experience with scripting languages (Perl required, 3+ years)

5.     Strong verbal and written communication skills

6.     Understanding of scalable, fault-tolerant, high-availability systems

 

Desired Skills

1.     Familiarity with the Open Source community and using Open Source software

2.     Understanding of basic monitoring systems

3.     Comfort with Continuous Integration practices

4.     Technical degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field preferred
