Commerce DevOps Engineer
6 to 12 months

Client is looking for a Commerce DevOps Engineer for a local onsite contract position.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a Commerce DevOps Engineer, work with engineering and operations teams to develop, maintain, and optimize our production, QA and development applications.
• Work with Java technology, Search (Endeca), Oracle, development tools to build and maintain different components / subsystems of Search and Browse system.
• Help in every stage of the project lifecycle -- gather requirements, design, develop, test and support the application
• Recommend engineering best practices, including use of design patterns, code reviews
• Collaborate, communicate with different teams, and triage technical issues across teams
• Work independently and with supervisory review on complex tasks.

• Collaborate with IT Leads and project managers as well as business to define product features, design and development deliverables and project estimates.
• Leads and mentors junior team members and effectively delivers projects. Creative and forward thinker.
• Provides technical oversight and guidance to outsourced platform and partner IT resources
Required:
• Extensive experience building enterprise software, particularly web-based and customer-facing applications using J2EE frameworks
• Experience in building large scale retail B2C web applications using:
• Oracle Commerce Products (e.g. Commerce, CSC, Merchandising/Business Control Center)
• Search (e.g. Endeca)
• Integration of product catalog, Web content
• Caching technologies, CDN (Akamai)
• Multisite implementation approaches
• Extensive experience working with ATG repositories.
• Excellent Architectural Modeling and Design Skills
• UML Modeling and ER Modeling experience
• Comprehensive SDLC experience including:
• Agile implementation principles and practices
• Production environment deployment and maintenance
• Performance tuning and optimization for scalability and high availability
• Good debugging, troubleshooting and analytical skills
Preferred:
• Knowledge of web/integration services, including WMB, RESTful, SOAP and WSDL.
• Knowledge of Jboss App Server
• Knowledge of XML, HTML/JHTML, JSP, and tag libraries
• Knowledge of building rich internet applications (e.g., Ajax, Flex/Flash) is desired
• Knowledge of Javadoc and documenting code
• Knowledge of JUnit and unit testing in general.

• Self-starter, with a keen interest in technology and highly motivated towards success
• Must show initiative and desire to learn business and technology subjects
• Able to work independently and provide updates to management
• Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
