Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning, organizing, writing and editing operational, maintenance, test procedure manuals.
Researches design specifications, design diagrams or test specifications.
Acquires and organizes basic source material, including applicable specifications, engineering write-ups, and drawing packages.
Helps coordinate the layout and design of the material.
2+ yrs technical writer/instructional designer experience is required.
- this candidate will be writing specs for programmers - writing technical specs - will be writing a how to process for users - needs to know how to write a step by step process that a programmer can understand - their writing style needs to easily convey a concept to anyone that will be using the written information.
Responsibilities:
We seek a documentation specialist who will ensure that this new platform is supported with clear, engaging, easy-to-follow instructions in common language so that anyone technically versed can understand what has been created and address issues as they arise. We are looking for an excellent writer who also has clear communications skills, and who can make use of multiple methods of communicating technical information to technical and business users. Duties include creating how-to documents, FAQs, decision documents, quick reference guides, and cheat sheets to help both tech-savvy and non-tech savvy users. New functionality will be added on a regular basis and will need to be documented.
The documentation specialist will work with project directors, facilitators, and business-lines, to develop documentation to support ease of use. The documentation specialist will be required to attend weekly meetings and be available both on-site and off-site for other meetings (daily, weekly and monthly). Must be able to work in a high pressure environment with tight delivery horizons. Specific Skill or Knowledge
Required:
Minimum Requirements: •Bachelor's degree plus 2 years technical / business in clear English detailed writing experience.
•Knowledge of and Experience in Financial Services, Financial Reporting and Accounting required.
•Excellent writing and communication skills
•Experience in composing "HOW TO" manuals for difficult subjects.
Preferred:
•Teaching experience, or expresses the desire to train others finding enjoyment in training and assisting in understanding of difficult subjects. •Familiarity with proof reading of detailed subject matter. •Ability to define extensively detailed data in simple terms. Personality and drive to understand deep detail. •Ability to make that understanding available in multiple explanations for understanding at different consumer's comprehension levels.
