Java J2EE Technical Lead (Technical Lead)

Location: Austin or Warren MI

Monthly rate: $

Profile

The technical lead will execute Java/J2EE solutions and have responsibility for technical requirements gathering, design, development, code review, and testing.  This person will supports technical design activities related to application software, data, databases, packaged solutions and infrastructure components.  This person will have the capability to design, develop and distribute technical reusable components.

Required Skills

·         8+ years of core Java Enterprise development experience, including JSP, Servlets, etc.

·         Experience managing team sizes of a minimum of 3 resources.  Should be able to mentor more junior team members.

·         3+ years of experience with Web Services, such as SOAP and RESTful (a plus).

·         3-5 years experience in EJB 2.x/3.0 or other middle layer framework (Spring, Hibernate).

·         3+ years of JSF, or equivalent UI framework, such as Struts, etc.

·         3+ years of experience with Tag libraries.

·         1+ years of experience with UI languages, such as JQuery, AJAX, JavaScript, EXT-JS, HTML, XML and XSD.

·         1+ years of experience with JDBC.

·         3+ years of experience with advanced relational database concepts, such as normalization, written stored procedures, triggers, queries, etc.  Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and/or MySQL.

·         3+ years of experience with Java and JEE design patterns.

·         Application Server experience with WebLogic (preferred), WebSphere, and/or JBoss.

·         Experience with code quality and code metric tools as well as code reviews.

·         Experienced in design skills, including HLD and LLD creation/review and high level concepts about DB design.

Preferred Skills

·         Proficiency with full life cycle development methodologies (e.g. Agile/Scrum).

·         JMS experience

·         Knowledge of security handling during the design process, including security testing, SQL injection, etc.

·         Experience with Application Server build and deployment activities (WebLogic preferred).  Knowledge of shell scripts for deployment activities.

·         Profiling of application for memory, performance, code coverage, etc., using tools like JProbe, JProfiler, etc.

·         Knowledge about build tool scripting and usage of tools like Ant, Maven, etc.

·         Minimum education - Bachelor's degree

·         PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

·         Automotive industry experience preferred

Soft Skills

·         Excellent communication (oral and written) and client facing skills.

Coach, mentor and motivate project team members and influence them to take accountability for their assigned work.
