Sr. DevOps Engineer
7 month contract
Responsibilities:
- Partner with technologists and developers in developing automated solutions to deploy and operate our systems and support a growing and maturing software environment
- Drive automation and streamlining of operations and processes. Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations.
- Support the dynamic and evolving needs of the development organization through the design, implementation, and administration of development, testing and production environments.
- Establish and foster partnership with and across other Medtronic and vendor infrastructure and operations groups.
- Setup, maintain, troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test and production environments. Responsible for ensuring high availability of multiple environments across platform, include certificate management. Develop and govern branching strategy and code management best practices for multiple and parallel development workstreams DevOps support for frequent, incremental code testing and deployment Design, drive and build self-service and automation capabilities to provide world-class service to software development teams Provide technical direction to other build and release team members Day-day code management, build, deploy, release activities Collaborate with software development and infrastructure teams to quickly troubleshoot issues and identify bottlenecks Operate with speed and agility as you lead change and continuous improvement efforts across our environments
Qualifications (non-technical):

- Strong and effective influencer in driving efforts and issue management to resolution

- Demonstrated history of progressively increasing complexity and variety of technical roles
Qualifications (Technical)
- 7+ years of experience in software configuration management, software development and/or DevOps
- Bachelors degree in technical related field
- Experience with systems and IT operations
- Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration and or Windows operating systems
- Experience with wide variety of automation/configuration/continuous integration/deployment tools such as OctopusDeploy, TeamCity, Jenkins, Dockers, Puppet, Chef or equivalent
- Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (such as AWS)
- Strong experience with SQL
- Ability to code and script - A working understanding of programming (such as Java, .Net) and scripting language
- Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
- NGINX WebServer configuration experience preferred
- Strong grasp of automation tools
- Proven experience in environment management across a platform
- Track record of leading and implementing change across a platform
