Position : Project Manager
Location: 2 MetroTech Center, 4th Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201
Duration: 6+ Months
SCOPE OF SERVICES:
We are seeking a Project Manager who will work with business analysts, data architects, and stakeholder in order to produce a strategy and plan for improving SESIS.
Project Managers are enthusiastic problem solvers who thrive on being engaged in all levels of the project. They must think quickly under pressure, and own the timely and accurate delivery of the day to day project activities. The ability to read between the lines, anticipate issues, and communicate consistently and accurately across various project channels are key requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Create overall project management documentation and work with the project team(s) to execute.
• Monitor day-to-day activities of entire project team and ensure work is progressing as planned.
• Document and communicate project status and strategic recommendations to clients, team members and senior management on a regular basis; escalate issues accordingly via the appropriate channels.
• Will help manage the daily project activities and will be responsible for daily reports, schedule updates, documents organization on SharePoint, and additional project deliverables as required.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and matrixed resources.
• Effectively and efficiently plan and prioritize all deliverables and resources working on the project based on scheduled milestones
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's Degree, related to computer information systems or equivalent required.
• At least 4 years of project management experience delivering custom software solutions.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies.
• Aptitude to identify project requirements.
• Experience with issue tracking and resolution software.
• Ability to motivate, support and understand different project teams.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on task completion.
• Ability to be an effective team player.
• Strong sense of ethics and professionalism.
• Strong working knowledge with the following tools: Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
• Ability to create presentations and status reports
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
• Prior government project experience (NYC strongly preferred).
• Prior experience working with education.
• Prior experience with data management systems and architecture
