A PHP Web Developer is an integral part of the overall Rider Experience team and helps to achieve business value on a daily basis. We are looking for a developer that will write efficient code, understand the bigger picture architecturally, and help to craft an amazing user experience overall. They will bring new development perspectives and will have an important say in how we design and build key client experiences. A successful candidate will have solid PHP skills so they can support and enhance our current web based telematics solution, but would welcome Angular skills to help modernize this platform as time progresses. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with strong technical skills and great interpersonal skills. Prior experience and education as listed below are ideal – but attitude, enthusiasm, and energy are of utmost importance. The candidate will work closely with key business stakeholders and customer support to support a key consumer facing product. Ability to effectively communicate technical strategy and tradeoffs with key business partners will be critical for success within this role. A successful candidate will be focused on solving problems with technical execution and have experience actively monitoring activities in the field and making optimization adjustments based on findings.
Desired Skills and Experience
Required Qualifications:
• High-level of proficiency in PHP Web development
• A good ideology for managing maintainable, scalable and cross-browser code across large sites
• Familiar with source control principles, preferably experience with BitBucket or Git
• Familiarity with current trends in social media and contemporary web concepts
• Knowledge and experience working in Amazon Web Services and continuous integration process
• Proven experience working independently on technical solutions while collaborating with business partners
• Willingness to provide Level 3 support in off-hours
• Deeply interested in the process of using logs and other diagnostic tools to resolve critical customer problems in the field, and in creating processes to reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR)
• Interested in packaging these tools where appropriate to enable lower level tiers of support to take over as necessary
Preferred:
• B.A. or B.S. in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience consumer facing web and web service development
• Knowledge and experience in Amazon Web Services and ASP.NET
• Experience in Agile based projects
• Experience with a telematics solution or other field force automation system
• Extensive knowledge of Object Oriented programing best practices
• Knowledge and familiarity of working in Angular
