Position: Senior Mainframe Developer Location: Herndon, VA Hourly rate: 50/hr Longevity: Contract 6 months+ Start: ASAP Senior Mainframe Developer Seeking a senior level IBM Mainframe Developer to assist in designing solutions for our financial client. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on technical background and previous experience in developing and maintaining large/complex IBM mainframe applications, and will be comfortable reviewing source code to reverse engineer requirements of current applications. The candidate should be skilled in aligning corporate capability with customer demand, bridging both business and technology, and be experienced in the use of business intelligence, enterprise/cross enterprise data movement and systems development and integration. Required Skills: • 10+ years of experience in IBM mainframe application architecture/design and development using COBOL, IDMS, and ADS/O • Expert in legacy IBM mainframe platform specific programming languages and environments • Knowledge of DOORS • Can communicate in both technical and business terms • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Must be proficient developing and delivering presentations on solution and business case/value to senior managers • Strong understanding or previous experience in process-driven software development lifecycles and quality methods • Bachelor's Degree Desired Skills: • Experience in the Financial Industry • Experience in and comfortable working in an abstract matrix organization, and working with various groups, including development, testing, operations and business development to advocate the architecture standards and enforcement • Additional industry certifications a plus
