Job Description

Agency Project Scope (Description of Work Needed - Additional background check requirements are to be added here) Certified Scrum Master NOTE: This PSO is NOT a request for a traditional Project Manager. The title Project Manager is only used to recognize the level of experience and expertise needed for a certified Scrum master in our development Agile environment. The candidate submitted must have actual experience in a scrum master role.   The person filling this position will work as a ScrumMaster on a Java development team working on the creation and qualification of the software needed to implement the Medicaid Readiness Initiative within the Department of Health and Welfare. We are a product team of developers, QA experts, analysts, product owners, DBAs, architects and lean/agile leaders who are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to assist with the ongoing improvement efforts. We're pretty good at the basics of agile software development but can always use new ideas about how and where to improve. We are continuously improving and get excited about results and outcomes we achieve through those changes; whether that means moving towards continuous deployment, using Test Driven Development, implementing test automation, employing pair programming or growing leaders throughout our organization. We are seeking a person that leads by example rather than by dictates and knows how to bring out the best in people. This person is not afraid to deal with conflicts. He or She knows when it's good to help the team say "No" and when to help the team push for more results. In addition, we're looking for someone to act as a champion in terms of sharing Agile knowledge across the organization. Whether it be organizing 1-day open spaces for our agile community, or organizing cross-team workshops, the goal is for this person to continue to promote an Agile environment around our larger product team.
