APPLICATION PERFORMANCE ENGINEER*** Can sit in MSP or ATL. Required Knowledge: • Strong technical knowledge with: Application Performance Management, Network Performance Management, End User Monitoring, Synthetic Transactions • Strong technical knowledge of multi-tier applications, storage and network technology • Strong relationship building skills for face-to-face customer interaction • Extensive experience in Java / .NET or web-based application design and development. • Extensive performance management skills Proficiency with: • Dynatrace APM, DC-RUM • Riverbed APM, AppInternals, AppResponse • HP Sitescope synthetic transaction or similar tool • CA 

 

 The Application Performance Engineer will be responsible for monitoring end to end application performance. You will monitor enterprise wide application performance using APM, NPM, UEM, and synthetic transaction services. Job Responsibilities: • Advocate the use of APM by interacting with development, infrastructure and operations support teams. • Govern the use and consumption APM services • Assist consumers of APM services in interpreting output and reports • Build application performance measurements, develop rules, and instrument tools • Makes technical recommendations on application performance improvement initiatives and other application monitoring • Toolset configuration and administration including patching and version upgrades • Identify problem trends proactively • Configure APM, NPM, UEM and synthetic transaction tools to monitor and optimize application performance • Establish automated performance monitoring, processes and alerts on overall application health to senior-level management 

 

Job Description: The Capacity Planning role works in a Client Server environment. The position consists of daily support of BMC Performance Assurance environment as well as capacity planning analysis.

Job responsibilities will focus on resource consumption of Unix, Linux and Windows servers to ensure sufficient computing resources are available to meet business needs. Responsibilities for this position include: Configure, patch, troubleshoot BPA product; produce technical and management capacity reports; analyze current and future utilization of server resources; participate in modeling and analysis of capacity consumption; and assist support teams with troubleshooting server performance issues; analyze performance data identifying bottlenecks and recommend alternative solutions; work with application teams to create application workloads; and QA test analysis.

 

Required Knowledge

  • Ability to install, patch, configure, model, forecast and complete capacity analysis using BMC Performance Assurance (Perform/Predict)
  • Strong knowledge of CPU, Memory and I/O system metrics as they relate to server performance
  • In-depth technical knowledge and experience with any one of the following operating systems: Windows, AIX, HP/UX, Solaris and Red Hat Linux
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience with any one of the following Virtualization Technologies: VMware, Solaris Containers, AIX LPARS
  • Strong relationship building skills with face-to-face customer interaction

 

Preferred Knowledge

  • Create EXCEL pivot tables for reporting
  • Distributed database concepts for any one of the following: UDB, Sybase, Oracle, or MS SQL Server

 

1.     Do you have strong technical knowledge and experience with any one of the following Operating Systems required-Windows, AIX, HP/UX, Solaris, Red Hat Linux?

2.     Do you have a fundamental technical understanding of multi-tier application architectures and troubleshoot performance issues?

3.     Do you have technical understanding of virtualization technologies (VmWare, Solaris Containers, AIX LPARS, HP VSE )?

4.     Do you have knowledge of BMC Performance Assurance (perform / predict)?
