Lead Web Engineer
6 Months

What you will do as a Web Engineer:

Lead the team in development of tools and platform to support key e-commerce and cloud technology initiatives.
You will build and enhance core tools that are needed to support development, testing and integrations leading to Continuous Delivery.
Use your creative and innovation-driven mindset to articulate engineering design strategies related to scale, performance, security, and usability while using modern web development technologies: Java, web services (REST), NoSQL databases, continuous integration, and automated testing.

At Best Buy there is a strong focus on quality using test driven development, continuous integration and automated testing frameworks.

Must Have Skills:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or equivalent experience
At least 5 years of professional web development experience, including demonstrated expertise in developing REST/Java/Spring/Maven applications and services
2+ years of experience leading a project team, implementing Agile practices and/or mentoring other developers
Experience with large-scale distributed systems and web oriented architectures
Familiarity with Unix
Object Oriented Programming and Service Oriented Architecture design

Preferred Experience

Experience with Groovy
Experience with Java/Spring
Experience using version control systems such as SVN or Git
Experience with bug tracking software such as Jira or ClearQuestn
Proficiency with UNIX/Linux command line
Experience using Wikis as a knowledge system for application development
Experience in understanding different integration patterns and their usage during testing
Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCE, etc.)
Pair Programming
Test Driven Development
Infrastructure Automation (Chef, Jenkins)
Experience with testing frameworks (Junit, Spock, Jmeter)
ATG Commerce
Bilingual Spanish
