Position: Performance Test Engineer(LoadRunner)
Location: Knoxville TN
Duration: 12+ Months
This position is for a Performance Test Engineer to provide load testing and performance engineering services to development teams responsible for a wide variety of applications, web sites, and mobile devices.
Responsibilities include working with Development, Operations and Quality Improvement teams to analyze, plan, deliver, and monitor load testing services though all phases of the development process.
Candidates must have the ability to communicate test results clearly and concisely to all levels of product and program management and quickly adapt to a high paced and rapidly changing technical environment.
Background should include education and experience in load testing, systems engineering, networks, databases and product development and must have prior load testing experience with HP LoadRunner (Minimum, 4-5 years).
The following tasks below are required for the job candidate:
• Contribute to the development of performance test objectives and performance related requirements.
• Sizes test effort, identifies tasks, and documents tasks for the project and the performance test plan.
• Supports the preparation of the performance test environment and infrastructure.
• Creates and maintains LoadRunner scripts and scenarios.
• Performs the execution of the performance testing, problem resolution, data collection and analysis according to the project plan schedule
• Makes contingency decisions during the test execution for retest and modification of test scenarios
• Responsible for creating all project deliverables including performance test plans, and performance test reports.
• Leads test planning workshops, test readiness reviews and performance test results review.
• Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance with Performance Test process policies and procedures,
• Review and recommend improvements to existing test procedures.
• Gathers business volumetric and assembles workload and transaction information for performance testing.
• Designs the performance test scenarios that meet the objectives identified in the performance test plans,
• Defines the test execution and plans for modifying the test scripts and/or scenarios,
• Conduct system performance testing to ensure system reliability, capacity and scalability.
• Analyze root causes of performance issues and provide corrective actions.
• Generate test summary reports for management review.
Skills:
• 4-5 years’ hands-on experience with HP LoadRunner (Vugen, Controller, Analysis) using Web(HTTP/HTML), Web Click & Script, AJAX Click & Script, Web Service, Citrix and TruClient protocols.
• Analyzing / Developing Web page details / constructs / source code.
• Networks (Load Balancer, F5, Global Traffic Manager).
• Knowledge of Sitescope is preferable.
• UNIX/Linux/Windows OS, some server administration experience a plus.
• Microsoft Office Products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills to include: scheduling, monitoring, and tracking.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and to effectively multitask.
• Firm understanding of performance test methodology, the SDLC, test environment/ test data management.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
• 5-7 years’ experience in quality assurance, computer programming, or a related field.
