Systems Engineer / Architect 

12 months

Systems Engineer / Architect:

This resource will be asked to support and enhance the Risk Management group's primary applications, SAS Risk Dimension and SAS BookRunner. They will work directly with internal customers and within the IT team and will draw upon analytical, technical and application support, troubleshooting and customer services skills to solve problems and manage customer expectations in a fast paced, demanding environment. Experience with IT applications and services supporting Energy or Financial Trading and Risk Management systems and processes is highly desired.

Must Have:

·       In depth analytical, technical, application support and troubleshooting skills required (5+ years)

·       UNIX-based systems support, UNIX scripting languages, UNIX command line experience (2+ years)

·       Basic systems administration experience (Windows/UNIX/Linux) to set permissions, install applications, etc. (2+ years)

·       Fast learner, ability to work in an energectic and dynamic environment both independently or as part of a team.

·       Ability to effectively communicate and navigate successfully within all levels of the organization.

·       Ability to understand business processes and coordinate with internal customers and developers to achieve objectives.

·       Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering or related or equivalent experience required. M.S. desired. Min. 10 years application/IT infrastructure support experience, or 12 years Utility exp.(in lieu of IT background), or any combination demonstrating equivalency

Preferred:

• Experience with Oracle Database and Tomcat
• Experience with IT applications and services supporting Energy or Financial Trading Risk Management
• Public Utilities Experience
• Experience with SAS Book Runner and Risk Dimensions
• Basic SAS programming experience
• SAS application upgrade experience to version 12 highly preferred.
• Basic Java programming experience (ability to read, write and/or modify code)
