Job Description:
The Network Operations Center (NOC) Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the Network Operations Center and staff for efficient 24×7 operations. Candidates must have a CCNP or a CCNA with supervisory or lead skills and possess strong knowledge of OSPF, BGP and MPLS, 7600 and 6500. The position will be located in Jersey City, NJ.
Responsibilities:
· Supervising the day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Center (NOC). This includes managing over 15,000-miles of fiber optic network with multiple data vendors and applications including:
o I.P. network including Cisco and Juniper routers
o CA Spectrum and IBM Netcool alarm monitoring system
o Remedy and Falcon trouble ticket system
· Manage and maintain the stability of the company's Global Network infrastructure.
· Control and develop NOC business practices.
· Responsible for network alarms and implementing corrective measures.
· Manage night shift turnover process with previous and upcoming shift teams.
· Management of the WAN, LAN, MAN, VPN, and Firewall infrastructures and escalation with various carriers and vendors.
· Supervise level 1, 2 and 3 resources and work parallel with Engineering and Deployment teams.
· Manage working relationships with other business units and maintain effective cross-departmental communications and teamwork.
· Control internal and external escalations in outage situations. Insure proper notifications are sent in a timely manner.
· Supervise network power downs, disaster recovery testing, changes and upgrades.
· Review Remedy trouble tickets daily; provide feedback and assistance and correction when required.
· Develop and maintain 7×24 NOC scheduling, track all vacation and sick time.
· Develop and complete periodic performance reviews for NOC technicians.
· Must be available to work a variety of shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and long shifts of up to 12 hours. May be required to work overtime as needed and be available for emergency or scheduled on-call.
· Maintain a customer service oriented environment focused on problem detection and resolution
Qualifications:
· Minimum five years experience in NOC operations with previous management and/or supervisory skills.
· Experience with transport, voice and I.P network operations and management.
· Must have excellent written and oral communications skills.
· Four year degree in telecommunications related studies or equivalent work experience.
· Must possess basic accounting and project management skills.
· Excellent written and oral communications skills are a must.
