Job Description:

A Windows Operations PCI Compliance and Patching Systems Engineer will primarily assist with the remediation Windows operating system security vulnerabilities, windows server patching and server hardening for Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 servers. The ideal candidate will have experience deploying, securing, administering, and supporting Windows servers. Audit remediation experience and familiarity with PCI compliance requirements is also critical. Candidates should have strong technical, problem solving and communication skills, and they should also be able to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision. A person in this role needs to be forward thinking, able to work effectively in a diverse, highly talented team, and a fast learner.

Job Responsibilities:

A person in this role will:

· Assist in the quick resolution of PCI compliance vulnerabilities for Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 servers

· Help establish and implement enterprise class standards for Microsoft-based infrastructure systems

• Conduct OS-level and VMware patch planning, coordination and execution using patch management tools like Microsoft SCCM, Altiris, VMware Virtual Update Manager, WSUS, etc.
• Manage and improve Active Directory and Group Policy Objects to meet best practice standards
• Manage, patch, and improve the functionality and security of existing VMware ESX environments
• Recommend capacity upgrades for existing systems, and assist with capacity adds as needed
• Build new physical and virtual servers in Windows 2003 and 2008 environments, as needed to resolve capacity issues and/or audit exceptions

· Develop and execute remediation plans to obtain or maintain FFIEC, PCI, SSAE 16/SOC 1 and corporate audit compliance

· Document best practice procedures, as needed, to meet FFIEC, PCI and SSAE 16/SOC 1 audit requirements

· Work irregular hours, when needed, to support after-hours and weekend maintenance windows

· Travel occasionally, if needed

· Perform other tasks as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2003/2008) engineering, administration, support and security best practices.

· Demonstrates previous enterprise-class experience as a server administrator, engineer or support personnel in a highly-available virtualized production Windows environment with SAN attached storage.

• Experience with the following Microsoft technologies: Windows 2003/2008 Server, Active Directory, Internet Information Server (IIS), Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM)/System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), Systems Management Server (SMS)/System Center Configuration Manager(SCCM), SQL Server, Microsoft Cluster Server, and PowerShell.
• Experience with the following virtualization technologies: VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3 or higher (ESX, Virtual Center/VCenter, VMotion, HA, DRS, Converter/PowerConvert), and shared fiber-channel storage solutions.

• Working knowledge of networking protocols and components including TCP/IP, DNS, CIFS.
• Scripting experience (Batch, WMI, VBScript, and/or Powershell).
• Experience working on a functional team, and with a variety of Infrastructure and business unit groups.
• Willingness and capability to quickly learn new technologies and business processes required.
• Strong customer service skills and a high level of professionalism.

Desired Skills/Certifications:

• Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MC ITP) / Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE)
• Experience with Active Directory, IIS, SCCM and Powershell
• Familiarity with ITIL and/or Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF)
• Experience utilizing VMware SDK & API

Education & Experience Requirements:

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field. Equivalent work experience can be substituted.

Job Related Experience: 5+ years experience in a fast-paced distributed systems support or engineering position.

Experience in an enterprise-class IT organization, managing > 300 distributed (Windows) servers.

Certifications: MC ITP/MCSE preferred. VMware certifications a bonus
