This function covers incumbents responsible for application development and modification and or maintenance of applications. These individuals have knowledge of development tools and languages. Incumbents work closely with business partners in defining requirements for systems applications. Essential duties and responsibilities: • General tasks will include: o Hedge Fund Administration platform Development o Hedge Fund Administration platform Support • Software Development, primarily in the following languages: T-SQL, Adobe Flex, Perl, Visual Basic and others. Qualifications: • Master's Degree in Software Engineering • Minimum of 4 years of applicable development experience preferably within the financial sector • Expert level in SQL • Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming is a strong plus • Knowledge of Adobe Flex is a strong plus • Knowledge of Perl is a strong plus • Strong analytical skills • Knowledge of the financial markets and the instruments traded therein is a plus • Must be a self-starter who will have the ability to figure out system processes by reviewing code, data model, and specifications • Strong verbal and written skills – must be able to participate in the spec writing process (both business functional and technical). Must be able to effectively communicate with business users, IT management and IT staff.
