Test Manager, Financial Systems (Hyperion) (SJM100150)

10+ Month Contract

SJM's Corporate Finance Group is looking for an experienced contract-based Test Manager to support a new financial systems development project. SJM is replacing the current Hyperion Enterprise system with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM). As part of that implementation SJM will more fully utilize Hyperion's Financial Data Management (FDM), Data Relationship Management (DRM) and the Hyperion Planning Application (which was implemented in March 2011).

Primary responsibilities:
Management - provide for all testing related functions and activities
Test Plans - Develop all plans and schedules
Documentation - Of all related activities involved in the testing
Testing Deliverables - Assure timeliness and quality of all related schedules and deliverables

Detailed Description-Overview:
- Takes responsibility for the production and approval of all testing deliverables and achievement of testing milestones during a project
- Manages all risks associated with the testing and takes preventative action when any risks become unacceptable
- Plans or oversees the planning of the system, acceptance, performance and parallel tests and coordinates the execution of these plans including the management of defects
- Defines, develops and maintains quality statistics and reports
- Ensures that any risks associated with the agreed test strategy and the system test plan are clearly documented and described to the clients/users and colleagues
- Makes sure that all testing plans comply with company guidelines, standards and regulations.
- Tests using standard testing methodologies and defect tracking procedures
- Actively maintains awareness and understanding of current developments and best practice in testing

Other Responsibilities:
- Work directly with business, technical and functional users
- Independently researches and resolves business and technical problems
- Develops and communicates clear test strategies, standards and goals
- Directs and manages tasks and resources and reports on project status when project management support is not available.
- Serves as project lead for the testing function
- Ensures the completeness and quality of testing by overseeing the overall testing process, analyze and document test results
- Creates documentation and coordinates transition events
- Partners with Corporate Finance and other business stakeholders to ensure project plan and testing schedule
- Maintains relationships with functional process owners, IT staff, third party system and support providers, and other SJM Groups

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience across multiple types of testing i.e. user acceptance, system integration, performance testing, parallel testing
- Experience of working on Business, Technical and Functional Requirements
- Knowledge of MS Office tools including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
- Knowledge of execution, scripting and planning
- Functional experience in at least one of the specific areas for position (e.g., financial systems)
- Accounting/Finance background or experience
- SJM will be utilizing Genesis (an SJM methodology, not required, but nice to have)
- Interpersonal skills necessary to drive results and deliver on commitments
- Proficient at meeting facilitation, conflict management, and consensus building
- Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously and ability to work under pressure with strict timelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven problem solving and solution crafting skills
- Systems experience to include Hyperion, SAP
