SUMMARY
Client is currently seeking a BI/DW Solutions Architect. The ideal individual will have 8+ years of industry experience, obtained a degree, and be responsible for successful architecture and delivery of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence projects. They will also have experience with enterprise architecture, new technology implementation, research and evaluation of emerging technologies, strategic technology planning, consulting, software validation, business support and health care industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Develops and monitors the organization's technology architecture and future technology vision within BI.
2. Identifies emerging technologies, implements and monitors best practices for technology architecture in BI.
3. Develops and monitors the architecture, ensuring compliance with enterprise principles for reducing complexity, ensuring designs align with architecture.
4. Provides strategic planning and comprehensive senior level technical consulting to IT senior management
and senior technical staff.
5. Guides and consults with IT management and technical staff regarding use of emerging technologies and associated services.
6. Participates in the evaluation, selection and application of new and emerging tools and techniques.
7. Has wide latitude in determining creative solutions to strategic and operational needs.
8. Mentor team and help with day-to-day technical questions
9. Provide conceptual solutions, data model and high level designs for data integration, data mart and MDM projects.
10. Supervising and/or assisting the continuous enhancement and support of existing Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence solutions
11. Seeking out and championing new business intelligence initiatives with BCBCM stakeholders providing long term value.
12. Work with other Enterprise architects and peer review the conceptual solutions and Designs to ensure alignment.
13. Analyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.
14. May lead or direct an organization responsible for a segment of the work performed by the IS division.
15. Provide high level estimates for projects
16. Must be able to present diagnostic, troubleshooting steps and conclusions to a varied audience
17. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment.
18. Track record of success in a fast-paced development environment
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor's Degree in related field required. Master's Degree in related field preferred.
2. Minimum eight (8) years related BI experience.
3. Health care experience.
QUALIFICATIONS

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Business Intelligence Background in large scale data integration, data mart and MDM projects.
2. Healthcare experience is required.
3. Prior consulting experience preferred (E&Y, PWC, Deloitte, Accenture)
4. Experience in one or more of major ETL tools such as Informatica, Datastage, SAS and their administration
5. Experience in one or more of major BI Reporting tools such as Business Objects, Hyperion, Cognos, SAS and their administration is a must.
6. Experience in one or more of major metadata tools and their administration
7. Experience in one or more of major data modeling tools such as Erwin, Data Architect, Oracle Designer and their administration
8. Experience in one or more data bases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL server and Teradata.
9. Experience in designing solutions in one or more appliances such as Netezza, Vertica, Exadata and Greenplum.
10. Experience in UNIX shell scripting, PERL and JAVA preferred.
11. Experience in Architecture frameworks (Zachman, TOGAF) , conceptual solution preparation and realization of the solution during the design and build.
12. Microsoft Project skills with PMP is a plus.
13. Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
14. A high proficiency level in specific job related skills is required.
15. Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
16. Experience in data warehousing/Business Intelligence (SQL, ETL, data warehouse, Cognos etc.) and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
17. Experience in gathering requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting
18. Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
19. Utilizes solid knowledge of the Project Management Institute¿s standards and terminology.
20. Extensive creativity required across areas of expertise.
21. Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job. Prior large, complex project management and delivery management experience a plus
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to read and interpret documents including process, procedure, and technical manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and basic algebraic functions. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
