This BA needs to have experience in driving business operational readiness in projects that deliver new software functionality that directly impacts current business processes. The BA for this role must have those qualifications.
** Looking for someone with strong Change Management experience with a background in Finance, GL, and ERP.
Overview: This BA position will be engaged in projects that are interdependent and support the financial planning process.
1. Xcel Energy is looking to upgrade or replace our current budget and allocation systems. The current systems were installed in 2003, and there have been minimal upgrades or enhancements to the systems since they were installed. As a result, several manual workarounds have been implemented to allow business to provide accurate and timely budgets. The budget process and systems must support the creation of budgets by each business area, plus the allocation of actuals from one business area to another. Budgets include both Capital and O&M planning. The budget systems interface with several other systems including the general ledger (JDE), capital project planning (Skire Unifier), human resources (PeopleSoft), and several others (PowerPlan, Passport, etc.).
2. Xcel Energy is implementing a new tool that will be used by the Regulatory organization for preparing Jurisdictional Cost of Service and Class Cost of Service rate cases. The system will replace the current business process that relies heavily on manual procedures to meet the specifications and requirements for rate cases. The system will integrate data from multiple sources and perform allocations and adjustments to create scenario versions for each jurisdiction.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Creates Communications Plan that identifies: Audience, the "what, when and how" and develops measures for communications effectiveness.
• Conducts Stakeholder analysis and collaborates with stakeholders to design future-state operational processes and determine impact to roles/responsibilities
• Creates Business training plan based on future state process models and job impact assessment
• Creates process for measuring System and Operational process change adoption identifying a feedback loop to improve on the adoption; ensures solution alignment with requirements traceability matrix.
• Applies expertise in the analysis, documentation, and leadership of communications, training, operational readiness, and user support
• Performs other duties as required
• Excellent communication skills – team members should be good listeners, facilitators and able to communicate the business change to people in all parts of the business.
• Business influence – individuals should have credibility with employees (both below and above them) in the organization. They should be trusted and have proper authority.
• Commitment to the change – an effective team member believes in the value of the change and shares a vision of the desired future state.
• Knowledge of the business – team members need an understanding not only of the particular function or area being changed, but also of general business principles and conditions.
• Interpersonal skills (team player) – team members should be people oriented and able to work and contribute to the success in a team environment
• Change management experience – if team members have change management experience or training, this may accelerate preparing the team.

Job Skill Specifications:
• Required Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years experience consulting in complex information system development and application implementation environment
• Minimum 5 years experience writing business and system requirements documentation
• Corporate budget system implementation and/or ERP systems implementation experience preferred
• Finance experience preferred
• Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and documentation skills
