Title : System Admin ( Information Security Specialist )

Location: Bloomington, IL

Duration:  Long term - currently till end of 2013 with possibility of renewal

 

Task Description:  This position will provide Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) services for a large enterprise.  This will include the collection of data from various platforms, such as LINUX and Windows servers, firewalls, proxy servers, IDS devices, and other technologies.  Duties will include developing procedures for collecting data and responding to incidents accordingly. Some project work.
Skills need: 
-LINUX Operating System experience, including navigating and searching log files
-Experience creating custom scripts, such as POSIX shell scripting and/or Perl
-Knowledge of syslog technologies, such as syslog-ng, rsyslog, and Snare
-Web server experience, such as Apache Tomcat and Catalina
-Experience with Trustwave SIEM applications desired
-MySQL experience desired
-Familiarity with common operating systems, such as Windows Server 2008 and Mac OS

Competencies Required:
-Ability to work independently
-Ability to meet deadlines in a timely fashion
-Ability to determine and analyze risks based on event data in adhoc and daily reports
-Ability to communicate with all levels of management, both verbally and in writing
-Ability to write technical documentation clearly and concisely
-Availability to work after normal work hours, if needed
