FULL TIME

Job Duties: 
• Diagnose hardware and software problems, and replace defective components.
• Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
• Ensuring that network communications across the security perimeter adhere to security policies.
• Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Operate master consoles in order to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.
• Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records.
• Hardware/Software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
• Confer with network users about how to solve existing system problems.
• Monitor network performance in order to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
• Provide Technical leadership and guidance to junior personnel Confers with vendors; developing, testing, and evaluation of current DNS/DHCP architecture
• Gather data pertaining to customer needs, and use the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements.
• Analyze equipment performance records in order to determine the need for repair or replacement.
• Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records.
• Research new technology, and implement it or recommend its implementation.
• Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs.

Skills Required:

• BS or BA in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years' experience as Windows Systems Admin/Network Admin.
• In-depth knowledge of Network technologies such as security, network segregation planning, WAN routing, Switching, datacenter networking, network tooling.
• Experience in mission-critical operations, ideally within a 24x7 large scale distributed and clustered environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products.
• Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
• Demonstrated history of handling mission critical systems
• Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users.
• Demonstrated ability to administer a 250+ node network including firewalls.
• Demonstrated ability to support networked printers and photocopiers.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
• Supervising, coaching, and mentoring of network services assistant position.
• Facilitation and change management skills.
• Proficient in technical writing/documentation
• VMware and VOIP

Desired Skills:
• Associate¹s Degree in Networking preferred
• MCSE, MCSA, MCTS, MCITP or Cisco professional level certification preferred.
• Database Administrator experience a plus
