Summary of Job Description:
A PeopleSoft Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for the Shared Services Oracle databases and
their respective servers that support the corporate PeopleSoft HR and Financials environments. This
position is the top level support of these databases and will oversee all major projects in regards to
databases and database architecture. This position is also responsible for ensuring Database uptime,
backups, disaster recovery, and database integrity.
A PeopleSoft Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for the Shared Services Oracle databases and

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Must have excellent communication skills and good corporate etiquette
Must have strong understanding of Oracle 11g+ RDBMS
Must exhibit excellent shell scripting abilities to automate system maintenance tasks
Maintain Oracle cumulative patches and fixes as they become available
Database Tuning specific to the PeopleSoft processes
Tune the OS and hardware to achieve optimal performance
Create and administer a backup and recovery plan that adheres to department policy and archiving rules
Document and continue to maintain all administration procedures, hardware and network layouts
Assist in making/ensuring environments are SOX/HIPAA/PCI compliant
Troubleshoot system and database issues as they arise
Database process improvement
Application support for Oracle SR database and infrastructure tickets
Must be a team player
Night and Weekend duties along with 24x7 on call required
Work in conjunction with Unix and System administrators
Qualifications:
8+ years of Oracle experience
6+ years of Oracle DBA experience
Current OCA or OCP certification required
4+ years of AIX experience
4+ years of networking experience
4+ years of Unix shell scripting experience
Optional Qualifications:
1+ years of Exadata experience a plus
1+ years of Netapp SAN experience a plus
2+ years Oracle RAC experience a plus
Experience with RS/6000 hardware a plus
