Company: Hewlett Packard

Location: Austin, TX

Duration: 4 month contract w/ ext.

Shift: Either Thurs – Mon 8am-5pm OR Thurs – Mon 12pm – 9pm

 

Must-haves

-Committed to Thursday-Monday schedule, comfortable with OT 
-3-5+ years Unix Administration 
-Strong HP-UX clustering 
-Ability to install Unix OS (using Ignite ideally) 
-Enterprise level virtual environment experience 
-Basic network troubleshooting skills at OS level

 

Plusses

-Red Hat Linux 
-Ability to install Red Hat using kick-start

 

Day-to-Day

 

Insight Global is looking for Sr. Unix Administrators to work at one of their premier clients in Austin, Texas on an enterprise level data center consolidation project. The company is not only closing one of their three data centers, but is also splitting into two companies this year. Due to the data center consolidation, there are roughly 5,000 servers that need to be built. The Unix Administrators must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment and be open to overtime. On a daily basis the Unix Administrators will issue command lines and perform clusters for server builds.
