JOB SUMMARY:
LAMP Developer (1 opening); LAMP Architect (1 opening)
Group: Wi-fi Platform Technologies
12+ month contract
Center City Philadelphia
For both Architect and Developer:
Major Duties:
· Day-to-day development using an object oriented language with a concentration on metrics data collection, analysis, reporting, tools and solutions development (coding/scripting/dashboard development) and operational support.
· Perform code development and upgrades necessary, patching, tuning, and troubleshooting
· Perform application software and database installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
· Assisting with monitoring tools configuration and investigate avenues to create more robust monitoring
· Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution activities with other support teams (e.g. network support, NOC, vendors) using metrics data collected and analyzed. Produce Root Cause Analysis findings that focus on recommendations to learn from and avoid problem recurrence.
· Maintain productive relationships with peer organizations and vendors.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Experience:
· At least 5 years of object oriented development, performance tuning, and troubleshooting experience in a large-scale, customer-facing, high availability environment.
· Administration, maintenance, support and scaling of Application Servers (Puppet, Tomcat, JBoss, etc.)
· Coding experience in Python, Perl, Ruby or PHP, the scripting languages used for dynamic web pages and web development (like classic HTML or XHTML, JavaScript, Java)
· Experience with Cassandra, MySQL, CouchDB or MongoDB , the database management system(s) Oracle, Apache, JBoss, etc.
· Experience with messaging, log aggregation, indexing, data mining, statistical analytics and reporting tools such are Sqoop, Logstash, Apache Kafka.
· Design and implementation of monitoring and notification approaches which maximize system stability, function and performance.
· Demonstrated ability to stay organized while multi-tasking between several projects, and to adapt to change.
· Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Team player with professional work ethic and positive attitude.
· Demonstrated ability to produce results with a minimum of day-to-day direction.
· Demonstrated interest in continuing to grow professionally and learn new things.
Desired Skills/Experience:
· Tools development in Python, Ruby, Perl, PHP, Java or similar languages.
· Experience with large scale (multi-tier) caching delivery systems.
· Experience designing SQL database schemas and optimizing queries (such are MySQL, Oracle, Postgres,Microsoft SQL Server, etc.), Oracle RAC, DataGuard, Streams, and Golden Gate replication
· XML experience is a plus.

For the Architect only:
The Architect is a developer and technical leader who is capable of leading a team informally/formally and has significant experience with object oriented programming and advanced data manipulation. The person will be primarily responsible for leading a team of developers to redesign and enhance our automation platform, define the roadmap for the platform, evangelize automation to the scrum teams, and serve as a subject matter expert to the SMEs on the platform and automation. The automation platform will encompasses our build/packaging, unit tests, AP / cable modem firmware validation, and deployment processes for website code, server configurations, network
configurations, load/stress tests, self-healing/automatic recovery, synthetic traffic and session validation, and cloud orchestration on openstack. They will also be responsible for crafting signature processes and code standards for
the team to follow.
