VMWare Engineer/System Engineer
Location : Dublin, OH
Duration : 9 Plus months with Possible Extn.
Joining Reqd Immediate or max by week period
· Has technical expertise in a defined area and can handle problems/tickets - complex in nature.
· Serves as escalation point for all issues within a group (infrastructure support/network) in a project.
· Responsible for maintenance and administration, enhancements, following change management policies, report capacity and availability, updation of the ticketing system and KEDB. Is expected to train and mentor junior administrators.
· Maintains a roster for shift management (if applicable). Is expected to participate in weekly operational meetings, change management meetings.
· Expected to lead the team from transition to delivery and also work with Project manager for Infrastructure projects and SI work.
· Should engage in Continuous Improvement Projects or SIPs to improve productivity and SLAs. In Package Implementation space:
· The incumbent leads and manage complex DBA projects, has expertise in new technologies, developments, database and application upgrades.
· Mentors and groom DBAs.
Skills:
· Maintain record for the process involved in the migration, Installation and Configuration of Cluster Server, Troubleshooting Clusters.
· Designing and Installing SAN , Designing and Installing NAS ~ Firmware Patch Administration.ESX Server Systems Security.
· Boot Disk Mirroring.ESX OS Performance tuning & management.ESX Hardware Upgrade, OS Upgrade.
· Vmware File system upgrade (VMFS Volumes).
· Vmware ESX Server Migration (2.x to 3.x/3.0 to 3.x or 4.0).
· Storage allocation to Guest.
· Vmware HA Configuration & Administration.
· Vmware DRS Configuration & administration.
· Vmware Datastore Management. VM Cluster Administration.
· Vmotion Administration. Cluster Configuration/re-configuration.
· Virtual machines Migration from Esx 2.x to 3.x.
· Physical to Vitrual Migration.
· VMware Capacity Planner Service. VMware Converter Enterprise Service. Virtual Network/Storage Architecture and Connectivity planning OS &Software Depot Management. Reporting Performance status.
· Reviewing ESX server performance. Architecture & Engineering (Projects).
· Restricting root access to ESX Server.
· Enabling external Authentication.
· Citix Presentation Server Install & Configuration.
· Create & Configure Policies.
· Securing the Presentation Server Console.
· Securing the Data Store.
· Securing Network Communications.
· Install & Configure Certificates.
· ~ Designing Forest and tree structure, Renaming the Domains, Re-assignments Of FSMO Roles, Modification of Active Directory Schema, Raising the Active Directory Functional Level, Optimization of Server performance
· Review the reports for the top alerts generated for the Active Directory and resolve those items that occur most frequently.
· Review the report that lists all trust relationships in the forest and check for obsolete, unintended, or broken trusts.
· Review all Active Directory reports and adjust thresholds as needed.
· Monitor Overall replication process of Intra-Forest, Enhance the efficiency on monitored services
· Review all performance related reports for capacity planning purposes to ensure that you have enough capacity for current and expected growth.
· Monitoring for threshold level to the required level, Validating the Active Directory database after compaction, Validating the installation of Active Directory, Planning and perform Test Migration on ADS, Validating the decommission of Domain Controller, Checking the Domain Controller Configuration with recommendations, Rename a domain controller
