Sr. Tester, Platform Transformation 

4+ Month Contract

 

We are in need of Senior Tester to work on a Platform Transformation team within .com.

 

Description of Responsibilities:

·       Convert business and technical requirements into test plans and test scripts.

·       Work with software developers to develop test specifications and build test cases to rigorously test product functionality and investigate all potential product test failures.

·       Verify and validate bug fixes.

·       Determine appropriate tools and techniques for test plans.

·       Document test procedures to ensure replicability.

·       Identify and test areas impacted by software changes.

·       Perform regression tests.

 

Description of Skills:

Priority  Skills

·       Agile/XP development

·       Unit testing (JUnit/Mockito/EasyMock)

·       Groovy

·       SQL/PL-SQL

 

Required Experience

- At least five years of relevant application software engineering/testing experience

- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures 

- Developing/testing Spring/Java/Maven applications  

- Strong understanding and experience with QA processes and methodologies

- Knowledge of Best Buy business, systems and processes

- Strong linux command line skills

- Experience with BBY programming environment (Java, Eclipse, Subversion)

- Ability to write new automated behavioral tests (JBehave, Selenium, Spock, etc.)

- Ability to write SQL to find appropriate test data, and for validation of test results

- Ability to write and execute manual tests

- Experience with Jira

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work in a self-directed manner, with minimal supervision
