Title ; Sr.IS Technical Specialist-UI Designer/Usability Expert
Location: Irvine, CA
Position Type: Contract: (6 months)
Key Responsibilities
Partner with feature and user experience teams to develop and implement user-centered design and research methodologies throughout the development cycle, using a variety of methodologies including usability lab studies, site visits, rapid / iterative testing, heuristic evaluations, focus groups, surveys, personas, and scenarios Manage and develop customer research projects Be a strong and vocal user advocate Understand and communicate key user experience considerations across teams Manage research projects with in-house teams and external vendors Work effectively in cross-functional projects that may span across divisions Create world-class user interfaces for new and existing products Drive UI design and usability within software development projects Work across teams, ensuring consistent look and appropriate use models Create and communicate effective UI style guides for developers Evaluate competitors' as well as industry best-practice usability Present usability analyses findings and recommendations Define the user experience design of devices, portal and applications.
Design the application user experience covering both software and hardware elements based on functional descriptions provided by Product Management Produce interaction & flow diagrams, use case documentation, wire frames, templates and visual designs Create low-fidelity prototypes, user flow diagrams to support development and testing process Challenge internal, legacy and 3rd party functional designs and assumptions in order to improve usability Create standardized user interface specification documentation Work with the development team to support implementation Work with other visual design resources internally and externally to make sure designs are usable Support usability research & translate usability test findings into product improvements / requirements Prepare the functional sign off of UI deliverables Coordinate the activities of internal and external resources
Requirements
Working knowledge and practical application of full end-to-end, user-centered design processes, techniques, and deliverables Several years of experience in user research, especially web usability research.
Several years' experience in Design of interactive Web user interfaces.
Experience in define UI standards and guidelines.
Experience in usability testing and validation.
Ideally you have a Degree/Masters in Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction or Usability Engineering or equivalent.
Methodological knowledge in quantitative and qualitative research methods as well as experience with qualitative and in-depth interviews.
Analytical thinking.
5+ Years' experience in UI design, Usability research, or related field.
