Position Title: Conversion Developer
Position Summary: Support production issues and enhancements requested by clients. .. . Design and develop data conversion reusable components for DSIS, Work with Application architect to develop Conversion layer of DSIS and interfacing requirements, Participate in Agile software development processes
Scope: This is an extremely hands-on position, with intense, daily interaction with all members of the team. Fast-paced, flexible, and innovative mindset required.
Skill Requirements: Demonstrable, extensive software development experience in data manipulation and the creation of complex algorithms; Ability to analyze complex instructions and come up with innovative solutions; The ability (and eagerness) to quickly learn new tools and techniques while building on the current knowledge base.
Specific Responsibilities:
· Work with the Client Support team/Data Engineering group to resolve current client production issues
· Work with the Process Engineering group and Information Architect to scope enhancements to existing conversion programs and to define and plan the development of new conversion programs.
· Identify and harden reusable conversion software assets.
· Participate in Technical design and code reviews
· Work within an Agile development environment
· Manage workload under tight development timelines
· Monitor and report development progress and schedule impact to Project Manager and Team lead
· Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications:
· Min 3 years of VB .NET programming experience
· Good working knowledge of XML
· Good knowledge of XSLT and XQuery
· Nice to have XSD, DTD, SGML experience
· Experience in developing applications using REST style APIs
· Nice to have 1-2 years of data conversion/complex algorithm development experience mainly Text, HTML, XML to XML conversions
Travel Requirements: Travel will be required on occasion. Travel requirements for this position though not guaranteed should be less than 20% of normal daily work.
Skill Requirements: Scale of 1 to 5 with NTH = Nice to have, 1 = worked with in some manner, 2 = used skill on a regular basis, 3 = extensive experience, 4 = major resource, 5 = expert
