Senior ETL Developer 

6+ month to hire

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Warehouse Developer. This person must work with system and business analysts to understand data flows and transformations from both a business and technical perspective. He/she must be able to develop ETL strategy and ensure data governance and quality as well as perform tuning of ETL processes. This person must be analytical, and self-motivated, with good communication and interactive skills. He/she must be a team player.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Analyze technical information for developing new systems and changes to existing systems, and resolving problems and questions. 

·         Will design, code, debug and install programming logic for existing or new applications. 

·         Participate and/or direct in analysis and design activities, evaluate alternate approaches. 

·         Good understanding of business function.

·         Ability to work in a tight timeline.

·         Perform debugging, troubleshooting, monitoring and performance tuning using DataStage.

·         Expert in developing both Server jobs and Parallel jobs for extracting, transforming, integrating and loading data to targets.

·         Good experience in Requirements Gathering, writing SRS, Business Glossary, Data flow Diagrams Designed, Application Systems Developed, Maintained and Redesigned.

·         Involved in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

·         Extensively involved in Unit Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing and User Acceptance Testing.

·         Good knowledge in ETL tools like Informatica, Microsoft SSIS and reporting tools like Cognos, Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) is a plus.

 

Skills and Specifications

·         Minimum of 5 years development experience in DB2 or Oracle.

·         Skilled in DB2 SQL and/or Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, SQL Plus, OLAP, Unix Scripting, MS batch scripting

·         Experience in IBM Websphere DataStage 8+

·         Skilled in performance tuning, analyzing query plans and tuning.

·         Good understanding in Data Warehousing concepts, Data Analysis, Data Warehouse Architecture.

·         Must have experience in working with and development of Star/Snowflake Schema Design, DataMarts and Dimensional Models, stored procedures, triggers, MQTs, Views, cubes.

·         Experience in DB partitioning, system administration a plus.

·         Experience in data modeling a plus.

·         Experience in Java (J2EE, JSP, XML/XSL, Web Services) a plus.

·         Self motivated, fast learner and team player with the ability to communicate effectively.

 

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or any related field from an accredited institution.
