Position: PostgreSQL Database Developer

Location: Bethesda, MD

Length: 6+ months and could be FT opportunity if both client and candidate agree it is a good fit

BridgePoint Consulting a national IT Consultancy and Staff Augmentation practice located in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a talented & tenured 

PostgreSQL Database Developer for a 6+ month contract in Bethesda, MD. Our client is seeking a resource that will support the DB programming enhancements that are being made to the portal application.  The selected candidate will need to create new stored procedures, queries for the DB and conduct performance tuning of the PostgreSQL DB. Additionally the candidate will optimize the DB/Applications that are already in production and work with the development team and provide database support in schema design and changes, as well as code review and SQL tuning. The candidate will also be tasked with developing the stored procedures and database triggers in support of application development and be responsible for developing the SQL code review to ensure queries are optimized and tuned to perform efficiently prior to production release as well as, design and develop a scalable database environment with high availability.

Technical Qualifications

8 – 10 years of PostgreSQL DB experience

5+ years of Linux experience

Strong design, configuration, optimization, and maintenance experience with PostgreSQL databases.
