Position: SharePoint Solution Architect

Duration: Long term

Location: Sacramento, CA

 

Responsibilities:

1. The consultant shall be responsible for SharePoint Solution enterprise architectural design aspects including hardware, software, security, messaging, work flow, interoperability, flexibility, reliability, scalability, and architectural structure and capability. 
2. This shall also include the following services:
1. Oversee and facilitate the transition of current SharePoint proof of concept phase to pilot to the final production phase.
2. Train the staff to lead and operate a SharePoint governance committee.
3. Consult regarding application or infrastructure development, implementation, and deployments projects to harmonize systems or infrastructure with SharePoint, and identify when it is necessary to modify the SharePoint architecture to accommodate immediate or future project needs.
4. Oversee and facilitate the research, evaluation, and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations.
5. Identify the organizational impact (for example:  regarding skills, processes, structures, and culture) and financial impact of SharePoint.
6. Train development staff to design, develop, and deploy new SharePoint applications.
7. Train development staff to convert Access databases and Adobe forms to SharePoint applications.
8. Train development staff for business analysis of SharePoint projects including postmortem documentation and metric collection.
9. Define metrics to measure and demonstrate SharePoint value.
10. Understand, advocate, and augment the business and IT strategies, and more specifically, SharePoint development and service delivery. 
11. Be prepared to "sell" the SharePoint process, its outcomes, and ongoing results, and to lead the communication or marketing activities needed to ensure SharePoint success and use.
12. Be responsible for SharePoint physical infrastructure planning, design, and deployment and implementation activities in a multi-data center environment. 
13. Collaborates with infrastructure server, storage, and network teams on all aspects of architecture and premise design, deployment, and operation of desktop and server, storage, and network. 
14. Experience in leading major infrastructure migration initiatives including virtual environments, Active Directory, deployment, and implementation.
15. Additional tasks shall be assigned as necessary to set up and manage the Client enterprise SharePoint environment. 
16. These assignments may include working with ITS to migrate current Web forms, Adobe forms, and Access applications to SharePoint and Structured Query Language (SQL) Server environment.
