 Oracle RAC DBA Consultant
Location:  Ashburn, VA
Duration: 3+months


Job Description, Responsibilities and skills required:
- Demonstrable experience of managing high-performance, highly-available, high-capacity databases in a critical production environment.
- Solid Oracle 11gR1/R2 RAC experience including build, general administration, troubleshooting (Break/Fix) and L3 performance tuning skills.
- Solid understanding of RAC internals and networking.
- Experienced in Clusterware (GRID Infrastructure) - CRS management and configuration.
- Skilled in Oracle ASM administration.
- Solid infrastructure knowledge including high-availability solutions such as Oracle DataGuard,
- Excellent SQL & database Level performance tuning skills.
- Expertise in backup and recovery and migration using RMAN, datapump and export/import.
- Expertise in database upgrades.
- Oracle GRID Control setup, management and usage skills.
- Experienced in maintenance and management of databases using Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control.
- Experienced on Linux/UNIX administration including strong shell scripting skills and understanding of the OS architecture.
- NFS Performance tuning.
- Willingness to work in a 24 * 7 Global support model.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Expertise with Shareplex Active-Active replication.
- Expertise with complex database performance tuning (using AWR/ASSM/Tuning tools), security, database backup/recovery strategy, and implementing monitoring procedures to maximize availability of the database.
- Attention to detail and the ability to deliver on deadlines and perform with minimal supervision.

Required Skills:
Oracle Database RAC and replication technology (like Golden Gate or Shareplex)
- 6+ years of proven DBA experience
- Basic Linux/Unix administration and scripting
- Skilled with Database replication, Backups technologies including RMAN, Snaps etc, Hot standby build

Desired Skills:
Prior Telecom DBA experience preferred.

Additional Information:
- 9:00am to 5:00pm EST Monday thru Friday with willingness to work out of hours due to 24 by 7 Global Support
 - Vendor to provide pager
