Enterprise Architect
Enterprise Architect to augment capacity in the area of Change Management, Identity Access and Management, ITSM, and eventually cloud technologies.
Job Description:
The Cloud Architect is a member of the Enterprise Architecture and Technology Solutions team, and is under the general direction of the Director of Enterprise IT Architecture and Technology Solutions.
This role will focus on developing IT Cloud capabilities, both internal and external, and all cloud service types; IaaS, aPaaS, Saas, and PaaS.
The first priority of the Cloud Architect will be the facilitating the execution of a cloud computing strategy focused on SaaS and working as key member of the Cloud CoE.
The Cloud CoE is accountable for establishing new cloud computing capabilities.
The Cloud Architect will work closely with other enterprise architects, IT executive and senior management, customer relationship management, operations, and engineering in order to complete their duties.
This list of duties is not exhaustive, and may be added, deleted or changed at any time and without notice.
Participate in drafting Data Ownership and Information Security Policies – in conjunction with Security Operations and Security and Risk Management develop policies that protect Scripps's Information assets while leveraging cloud computing.
Participate in the governance or design of solutions that leverage Cloud Computing, by either participating in the design, or by reviewing and approving designs.
Work with the Architectural Review Board and other key executives
Help define standards and policies for the governance of Information stored or processed in an external Cloud; including SaaS (software), IaaS (infrastructure), and APaaS (Application Platform) models.
Help to establish Cloud standards and best practices associated with Cloud Computing. This includes but is not limited to our standard operating environment (SoE), service level standards, Cloud management tools, and preferred Clouds (Cloud Vendors).
Provide technical expertise and consulting for cloud implementation teams.
Provide guidance from a practical perspective on the capabilities required to fully integrate cloud technology into an existing architecture, including consideration regarding provisioning, monitoring, operation support and aggregation of business services across cloud and on premise platforms.
Define Cloud-to-Cloud integrations by creating C-to-C standards, idea and concept level solutions models, and by consulting with the implementation teams.
Create and maintain a Cloud readiness assessment for our application inventory. Define which applications are good candidates to move to the cloud, which application are ready to move, and, if not ready, what needs are needed to ready them.
Work in conjunction with Legal to define our standard contract terms and service levels for all types for Cloud Computing services, and standard terms for purchased software that Scripps would/could deploy to Cloud infrastructure.
Define the reporting and metrics needed to assess the quality of a cloud service offering. Work with Scripps's IT Service Management team to determine their needs for Service Performance Management, Issue Management, and Problem Management with a Cloud vendor.
In conjunction with vendor management, establish and maintain a standard set of cloud vendor partners.
Perform other duties as needed and as directed by supervisor.
Requirements:
Education:
A bachelor degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or other information technology oriented major is a must.
Experience:
Candidate must have a minimum of five years of experience as an Architect, and twelve years of experience in the IT industry.
Candidate must demonstrate experience and knowledge in the creation of internal and external cloud computing platforms and all cloud computing service models.
Technology:
Candidate must have experience with both Linux and Windows OS's, and be an expert in virtualization.
Candidate must understand and be able to teach cloud security; including XML gateways (like Vordel and Layer7), and security federation (with standards like SAML and XACML).
Candidate should know middleware management and have demonstrated experience Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Web Oriented Architecture (WOA) and Event Driven Architecture (EDA).
Skills/Abilities:
Must have a solid understanding of Enterprise Architecture concepts and theory.
Candidate needs to be able to plan and accomplish goals within a team environment, influence others, demonstrate pier leadership, and facilitate cross-functional core teams.
Candidate must be self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to instructed and mentor others.
Preferences
• Education: A master's degree in business administration is preferred.
Experience:
• Experience with Amazon's EC2, VPC, and S3.
• Experience with Microsoft's Azure.
• Experience with OpenStack.
• Experience with either the JBoss SOA stack.
• Technology: Job knowledge of Cloud Management tools is preferred.
