Avaya Network Engineer
Location: Southfield - MI
Duration: 4+Months
Network Monitoring and Tools Integration Engineer. Support an Enterprise Network utilizing Hewlett Packard E2E tools, Avaya Com, and Avaya VPFM.
HPNA: Basic Linux system administration skill to include monitoring disk, CPU, memory utilization, installing patches and/or software updates. Basic HP Network skills such as adding users, generating reports, add/change/delete of devices. Additional skills would require knowledge of ping, traceroute, snmpwalk, telnet and ssh to a device.
Avaya Com: Basic Windows Server 2008 administration skills. Monitoring disk, CPU, memory, stopping and starting services, installing patches and software updates. COM skills include adding users, creating discovery seeds, running merge or new network discoveries, and troubleshooting failed discoveries.
In addition, basic Avaya skills would be required including Avaya network administration, being able to access a switch via SNMP or CLI and verify SNMP credentials.
Avaya VPFM: Knowledge of the VPFM software, including SNMP mib and ASN.1 interpretation, Perl scripting and MySQL database schema reverse engineering.
