Description

Key Responsibilities: Use a combination of open source and commercial tools (ex: LoadRunner, JMeter) to measure and analyze the scalability, availability and performance of the API platform at varying loads. Gather, analyze and summarize the results and identify performance issues. Combine the results from various tests into easily understandable graphical results. Design and develop performance test cases based on current and future load patterns. Build and automate the performance-testing framework, which would allow the team to repeat the performance test with every new release. Requirements: BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent 5+ years of software performance testing and performance analysis. Strong knowledge of HTTP load generation and measurement software (Apache Bench, JMeter, LoadRunner) Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, REST protocols 3+ years of experience in working with Java technologies Strong understanding of Linux operating system Strong understanding of distributed systems Prior experience in benchmarking and performance testing complex systems Proven track record of benchmarking complex systems and improving the performance of such systems. Experience in cloud based systems specifically with AWS would be a plus Experience with messaging technologies (RabbitMQ), Tomcat, NoSQL (Redis, Riak, MongoDB, Hadoop) would be a plus Excellent problem solving, with the ability to distill a problem down to one or two key hypotheses and quickly able to validate based on live and experimental data. Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to relate with sensitivity to the unique needs and problems of a 24-hour operation with critical deadlines. Must be able to manage several active projects simultaneously Ability to work under pressure Can work with minimal supervision. Goal oriented, customer focused, self-starter attitude, not risk adverse Exceptional interpersonal teamwork skills.
