Position:Configuration Management Engineer
Location:Knoxville TN
Duration:6 Months

Our websites, platforms and mobile applications supporting Food Network, Cooking Channel, HGTV, DIY Network, Travel Channel and Great American Country (GAC) are visited by millions of users each day.
We're looking for a Release Engineer to help us define, build and operate the tools, infrastructure, and automation processes to build and deploy product and platform releases for our digital brands.
As a member of the Digital Engineering team, this hands-on role works with Software, Infrastructure, and QA Engineers to ensure our platforms and products seamlessly move from development through rollout and into production.
This role requires strong scripting and coding expertise with an eye toward continuous delivery to help us deploy complex web applications more quickly, efficiently, and reliably.
Responsibilities
* Architect, code and test build & release processes and tools
* Collaborate with software, infrastructure and QA engineers to integrate tools for source code control, build management, continuous integration, and release/deployment management.
* Document build & release management tools, processes and best practices
* Train platform and product engineering teams on build & release management tools and processes
* Collaborate with software, infrastructure and QA engineers to plan platform releases
* Identify and track cross-platform and cross-project technical dependencies for builds & releases
* Support and monitor builds & releases
* Automate build & release processes in support of continuous delivery goals
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement with build & release processes; work with team to integrate activities into platform roadmaps
Minimum Qualifications
* BA/BS from accredited college/university or equivalent experience.
* 3+ years experience in release engineering or configuration management
* Experience with build, release and deployment of Java web applications, RDBMS schema changes, and batch data conversions
* Extensive hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux environments, including scripting
* Hands-on experience configuring and operating source code control systems (i.e., Subversion, Mercurial, Git)
* Hands-on experience configuring and operating build management tools (i.e., Ant, Maven, Gradle, Archiva)
* Hands-on experience configuring and operating continuous integration tools (i.e., Jenkins, TeamCity)
* Hands-on experience configuring and operating release/deployment management tools (i.e., Chef, Puppet)
* Familiarity with Java software development
* Familiarity with Agile software development practices
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Hands-on experience configuring and operating issue tracking systems (i.e., Jira)
* Experience with build, release and deployment of cloud infrastructure (i.e., Amazon Web Services)
* Experience integrating automated functional testing into release deployments
* Experience integrating automated stress testing into release deployments
* Experience with Java software development for web applications
